Maria Moore Riggs is and amateur crafter and a professional baker. She started her online baking company - Little Red Hen Bakeshop in 2008. Her products are available online atLittleRedHenBakeshop.com or you can find her slinging her freshly baked cinnamon buns, scones, and delicious organic coffee every Saturday morning 10-1 at the Decatur Farm Stand Market (corner of McDonough and Trinity in downtown Decatur).

Strawberry Jam
Learn to make your own delicious Strawberry jam with Maria Moore Riggs - owner of Little Red Hen Bakeshop will teach a hands-on class using local, organic seasonal strawberries. Participants will learn to prepare, cook and water bath preserve the old fashioned way. Included in the discussion are low sugar canning methods and herbal infusions to impart unique flavors to the jam. Each participant will leave with a jar of jam and the skill to make more!

Gluten Free Baking- January 30, 4-5:30pm $20 for members, $25 non members Join Maria and learn to make delicious gluten-free yeast bread and gluten-free pie crust from scratch. We will use all natural ingredients that are readily available in local area supermarkets. These recipes will please gluten and non-gluten eaters like - it is easier than you think. Each student will leave with bread and recipes. Ages 10+. Valentine Caramels February 12, 4-5:30pm $20 for members, $25 non members Learn to make scrumptious caramels - and bring them home to your sweetheart in a handmade recycled box. So cute - the perfect handmade gift! Each student should bring a cardboard cereal box to use for making their box. All other materials will be provided. Ages 10+. Spa Gifts for Mothers Day May 8th, 4-5:30pm $25 for members, $30 non members Send the kids off to craft and play at the garden and they will come home with a bag of gifts for mom! Using basic natural ingredients like beeswax, almond oil, sugar and essential oils we will make spa gifts to delight mom for Mothers Day - lip balm, bath fizzies and sugar scrub. Ages 5+.
